Economic Freedom Software

Global Economic Software Ltd has developed a software research tool that aids in the analysis of the relationship between economic freedom and other factors. This tool incorporates data from the Economic Freedom of the World: 2006 Annual Report and certain data series from World Bank's World Development Indicators 2006. These datasets are excellent for producing correlative graphs.

There is no charge for using the software, but we strongly encourage users to review the copyright information available under Help -> Help.

The software is copyright to Global Economic Software Ltd and should be cited as follows: Global Economic Software Ltd (2006). Economic Freedom Software, 2006.

The Economic Freedom data itself is copyright The Fraser Institute (2006). Economic Freedom of the World: 2006 Annual Report. Vancouver: The Fraser Institute. Available at www.freetheworld.com.

The World Development Indicators data is copyright The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/The World Bank (2006). World Development Indicators 2006 (CD-ROM). Washington, DC: The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/The World Bank.

Note that the software contains economic freedom scores but not the actual, raw data on which the economic freedom scores are based. The entire Economic Freedom dataset, containing both economic freedom scores and its underlying raw data, is available at www.freetheworld.com/download.html#efw .
